About the Artist

nullI am fortunate to have discovered my calling early in life. I began drawing and painting as a young child and can remember the magic I felt the first time I touched a brush to paper. My early creative interests led me to art school and was followed by a career in the arts as both an illustrator and graphic designer.

In 2012, I began focusing on painting in watercolor and entered my first local juried art show. This was the beginning of a new adventure for me, and I am grateful for the friendships, encouragement, and direction I have received along the way. Since that time, I have been fortunate to have my work exhibited throughout the United States. It is always an honor to have a painting selected to be part of an exhibition and rewarding when a piece is recognized with an award.

The medium of watercolor allows me to convey my personality as both an artist and an observer. I love the fluidity and transparency of the medium and the surprises that occur when the pigments mingle with water. I consider myself to be primarily a genre painter and enjoy painting portraits and scenes of everyday people from the world around me. As an avid people watcher, I feel the world would be a boring place if everyone was the same and I am drawn to what makes each of us unique. I enjoy the challenge of capturing a likeness, but I’m drawn to the character of my subjects and hope to tell their story.

I am a Signature Member of several watercolor organizations and have served on the board of the New Jersey Watercolor Society and Garden State Watercolor Society. I enjoy working on a commission basis and am honored when people display my work in their homes.

I currently reside in Flemington, New Jersey.
